Magical First Trip to Eleuthera ☆☆☆☆☆★★★★★
Our two week visit to Tourmaline exceeded expectations. The house is lovely, and perfect for our first week with our son, daughter in law, and grandchildren aged 5 and 3. And not too big for just the two of us during our second week. We loved it so much we tried to add a third week, either at Tourmaline or next door at Dream House, to no avail. So we booked next year for three weeks.
Walking on the beach is gorgeous. When the wind calmed down, we enjoyed snorkeling off the beach in front of the house. Easy walk east to La Bouganvillia for drinks and lunch. We took several day trips to explore the area. Tippy’s is great for lunch & dinner. The real find is Eleuthra Island Store, great produce and baked goods on Tuesdays and Fridays. Cinnamon rolls are amazing! Can’t wait

Buttonwood was a great spot for a family visit! The home was clean with plenty of kitchen equipment to make meals. Paddleboards were a plus to have for the calm Caribbean side. Golf carts and bikes made it easy to cruise through nature and get to the Atlantic. Ideal spot for sunrise and both beaches were always empty. Pam was very helpful and responsive with questions leading up to the trip and Brett was readily available for questions on site.

We chose to stay at Buttonwood Condo Resort for it’s central location making easier to explore the whole of Eleuthera and also for view of both Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean. Amazing to watch sun rise and sunsets.
Spacious modern accommodation with all mod cons and nicely furnished (except brown outside dinning table).
Lovely outside balconies to enjoy views.
Clean but needs some maintenance work to bring up to good standard eg. Kitchen floor. Issues raised dealt with quickly by Brett the site manager who was very friendly.
Enjoyed using golf buggies to access deserted Atlantic beach. Beach chairs and umbrellas available which is great. Nice small pool.
Local beach front restaurants and supermarket 15 mins walk or 2 mins drive away.
15 mins drive to the lovely Governors Harbour.
We had a fantastic holiday at Buttonwood and pleased we chose this resort.

The property was exactly as described on the website and in great shape. we had a water issue that the property manager addressed right away. The golf carts were all charged, there were enough chairs and beach umbrellas for all. We loved the music night at Lenrose on Thursday. It was a little more remote than we thought it would be, not understanding the travel time on the Queen's Highway.

Beautiful views of both Atlantic and Caribbean waters from second floor condo. Nice access to both beaches. We used the very nice pickleball court often. Property location convenient to multiple local grocery stores and beaches within half-hour radius.
Nice, clean condo. Limited dishes/cookware. Kitchen drains slow. Of the common-use golf carts, only two or three were reliable. Could be a problem it all units are booked. Of the assortment of kayaks and paddle boards only three didn't leak (the patched ones leaked.) Needed long-sleeves and pants on second floor condo deck mornings and evenings because of noseeums. At beaches also.

Travel tip: bring in food (freeze meet prior) and have receipts (just in case). Bring essentials:baggies, foil, paper towel (expensive on island). There are a ton of spices there unless you have your favorites (pack in baggie). Go to Island Farms to get your fruit/veggies. Bring benedryll, cortisone, caladryl, anything to help with noseeums. Pros: watch sunset/sunrise/location good if u don’t want to be in Govenor Harbour (5 min airport/50 min Spanish Wells/Gene Doc bay, 25 from Gh), Brett responsive, Matt answered questions for months, no prob with golf carts, best for large group (we had 1 building/main house)/beds overall comfy, Condos have normal island wear n tear.The island is gorgeous! We loved exotic excursions so much, we booked 3 times during our week stay (siteseeing/fishing). Precious cooper was a top notch chef that came to our house. Highly recommend her! Delish is a must. You feel so welcome. We left as family. Wreckers in Spanish Wells was good /staff awesome . Tippys was good vibe however very slow and everything was sold out and felt like we were a burden for our waitress. Island farm has best fruits/veggies/homemade bread/cinnamon rolls on Tues/friday! Go when opens, lines are hour long! Be sure to go with someone so they can wait in line while you shop. Cons: noseeums are horrible we were even cautious and had different repellents. Nothing worked. Keep windows closed they can get through screens, and stay indoors during dusk (if u do get bit try ur best not to itch/wash asap/go in ocean n soak to try to dry out). They bite during the day too! Get a fan or pray for windy days! Those of us that didn’t itch our numerous bites, they didn’t swell n get worse. If you have mold allergies, not the place for you. Car rental: have low expectations (which we did). We rented 2 mini vans(fine) n yukon was death trap (barely breaks/starts, hole in dash). Use referral list. Do not expect everything to work...it is an island! Have fun.

We brought a team of youth and adults down to the island to do some mission work. The accommodations were great for our large group - the main lodge provided enough room for our large group time and meals. Matt, Brett, and the entire team were super responsive. We would definitely stay here again!

We rented this 5 bedroom for our family and a family friend. It was gloriously spacious and the white interior was cleverly done with white IKEA throws so we weren’t panicked every time the kids touched furniture or drapes. We had our private pool and then the beach right across the drive... French Leave Beach about 40 yards down the road. Both beaches were basically deserted!
The owner and manager were easy to contact and generous with suggestion of where to go and what to do.
The house is located mid-island making it perfect for seeing so much that Eleuthera offers!
Take advantage and rent a chef for at least one night of your trip! We tried 2 and both were excellent!

We thoroughly enjoyed our time and the properly named "Atlantic Sunrise"! The house is spacious with large windows everywhere to provide lots of light and sunrise views. The big 10' glass doors off the master and living room were especially nice. The new deck recliners were a plus as the back covered porch is a great place to do work, play games, or just relax. The Starlink WiFi was amazing as well.
There were lots of coconuts to cut open and eat if you can get them down and know how to wield a machete! Delicious!
Some notes: The kitchen furnishings are adequate but not overly stocked--no tin foil or cookie sheet to cover items baking.
If you really want/like to snorkle, bring your own gear.
All in all, we loved it here.

This was a lovely older home, with an amazing Atlantic view, and only steps from the community pool. Classic style reminiscent of 'Old Bahamas' from the 1950s describes the house and the community. One of the nicest beaches in the world just a barefoot walk away, and access to the swim up bar at Pascals restaurant made for a memorable vacation. Would stay again for sure!

This is a beautiful place on a spectacular beach. We stayed here for the second time last week. The beach is hands down perfect. The house is well set up with everything you need. It was a refreshing change to have salt and pepper, olive oil, nice knives, good pots and pans, nice dishes, and even nice insulated yeti mugs for coffee and drinks. The deck is amazing and there are towels and sarongs as well as coolers and beach chairs and umbrellas. We will be back.

We loved so many things about this house - the screened in porch facing the ocean, the proximity to the fabulous beach which we had to ourselves much of the time, plenty of beach towels and chairs/umbrellas that were in good condition... Our disappointment was that the air conditioning in the kitchen/2nd and 3rd bedroom side of the house was not working when we arrived, and even after repeated phone calls to Brenda (who seems like a lovely woman and she was trying) and the a/c repair guy Dwayne, it never got resolved. It took until Tuesday for Dwayne to diagnose the issue (bad compressor), and then he was unable to locate a replacement on the island - we assume, because he never would respond to daily phone calls asking for an update. The power went out several times, and something that would have been helpful is some battery operated lanterns/lights instead of just some votive candles. All in all though, we had a great week in Eleuthera with the friendly island people, and look forward to a return trip!

Ho Hum is truly a magical place! My grandparents built this wonderful house back in the late 60s and being able to bring my family here and share this amazing place with them was a once in a life time experience.
The house is still as beautiful and charming as ever and the beach is the just as private and spectacular as when I was a little girl.
As my grandparents used to tell us when we would visit years ago, getting here isn't easy but if it was it wouldn't be so special.
Being at Ho Hum is worth the effort to get there.
The only thing you can do there is get relaxed!
And that is what we did. We swam, snorkled at the reef (we saw sea turtles, rays, an octopus and lots of tropical fish) woke up to stunning sunrises, star gazed at night and simply slowed down.
Ho Hum is island living at it's best.

We stayed at Key Lime for 6 weeks Jan/Feb. it was an amazing experience. We loved the location. We spent a ton of time on Rainbow beach which was just steps away. The cottage was extremely comfortable and came equipped with everything and more!! Sarah and Brenda were responsive and so easy to reach. The place was spotless. Rainbow bay in general is the perfect location to enjoy the neighbourhood and the island. You cannot go wrong with rental. Don’t hesitate to choose Key Lime cottage.

The house and property is beautiful and well maintained. It is a little older and needs some updates (sliding doors, outdoor furniture dated and some chairs broken, but not a big deal)
One more thing - there was barely any water pressure in the shower in the cottage that is located right next to the main house.
The location is to die for - absolutely amazing. Beautifuly maintained and landscaped outdoor space.
House was nicely decorated and clean.
We met the property manager Angela, she was super nice! And a huge thank you to Jennifer Hadland, who was extremely amazingly responsive and helpful in anything regarding ordering food and drinks and delivering it to the house before we arrived. She is amazing.
I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family and hope to be there again one day. It is literally on a beautiful beach. Stunning beach with pink sand and protected by rocks ..

We all enjoyed this house and property very much! We loved the location and all the privacy. The pictures online do not do it justice. Our favorite part was boating and kayaking out to the small islands and snorkeling. It was better than snorkeling on an excursion and this was free! We would definitely rent this house again and tell our friends to rent it also.

My family, a group of 22 people stayed at Cocodimama the week of Christmas. We had a wonderful time from the moment we stepped onto the property. The rooms were well appointed and spotless, and the common area in the Blue House had everything we needed to when we were all
together. The House manager, Mrs. Annie was amazing! If we needed it, she had it, and if she didn’t, she helped us to get it! We needed a bouquet for a wedding celebration and they are hard to come by last minute in Eleuthera, but Annie found someone who could do it. Her staff worked tirelessly to make sure we had a comfortable stay! Cocodimama is literally 3 minutes from Governors Harbor airport and 7 minutes from town in a perfect location. My favorite part of this beautiful PRIVATE resort is the view and the beach. The sunsets were the most beautiful I have ever seen, and the beach is clean, with clear blue Caribbean water. There is nothing better than waking up to that view daily! I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Matthew from Eleuthera Vacation rentals who put up
with all of our questions for the 6 months prior to our arrival. He was very helpful and professional. Best vacation ever and worth every penny!

Double Bay beach is beautiful and this house has the best palapa for enjoying it in the shade. Endless Summer has large, very comfortable bedrooms and newly redone bathrooms. It was perfect for our family and friends that joined us. The staff is wonderful, Janice, Elline and Sidot were very accommodating of our requests.

Property was everything it was advertised.... The bungalow was exactly as pictured and the beach was gorgeous and the pool was great (and the on-site restaurant Pascals, is good and the bartender Sammy is fabulous).

We enjoyed a very peaceful and relaxing stay.

That being said, the devil is in the details. 1) the internet is slow. Like barely load a Google page slow. 2) the power goes out in Eleuthera a lot... while that’s not the property’s fault and they did provide a flashlight, it would have been good to know up front so we could bring our own flashlights and also plan for a 12hr outage. 3) the road down to the property is rough. We had a 4x4 and the day after it rained we couldn’t leave the road was so washed out. I feel like they should have warned us as the taxis won’t even drive down the driveway.

The property itself is clean and safe and would stay here again if we felt they were honest about some things upfront!

We stayed at Kataluma for a week in late July 2024. The 5 bedrooms were perfect for the 5 adult couples as everyone had their own bath and space but a large “great’ room for meals, card games and watching the Olympics on the big screen. We played billiards on the first floor. The view from the kitchen and main room is fantastic. The pink sand beach made for an easy-sandy water entry. The more active of our group kayaked and used stand-up paddle boards, while others lounged in the perfect infinity pool. The unit was very clean and well maintained. When we had any issues, someone was there within the hour to address it. Kataluma is well located, directly on the beach, on a decent road and near Governor’s Harbor. This home is ideal if you are looking for a relaxing island vacation in a well maintained building. Within 75 yards of Banana Beach - which is about 2 miles long and rarely has more than 6 people on the beach (essentially a private beach for you). Short beach or road walk (1/2 mile) to Sky Beach Club and Sammy's Bar. ?The property itself is very clean, well maintained and stocked for cooking on site. Large front porch is terrific for a morning coffee and watching the palm trees on site sway in the wind. Given the location, spaciousness and cleanliness of the property you can not go wrong staying here. Do not waste your valuable time searching elsewhere - this is s island heaven.

Salty Dolphin is a 2 minute walk to the beach which is utterly amazing. The house is spacious with plenty of room to spread out or find a quiet corner. We were seven and not bumping into each other. Spacious kitchen (appliances a little dated), large dining table, four bathrooms with showers (water pressure iffy), a small private pool, lots of deck area, outdoor showers. Overall the house has a nice feel to it, comfortable and relaxing. There are no-seeums anytime of day. Bring bug spray. The location is the best part of this property. Banks Rd takes you down to the town or out to Palmetto Point. Tippy's, Bacchus Fine Foods, the Buccaneer all nearby and worth stopping.

Windsong is beyond stunning. Pictures do not do the property justice. My family of two adults and three teenage boys sought seclusion and simplicity on the beach and that's exactly what we found at Windsong. We initially wanted a pool, but at the time of booking, Windsong was the closest home to the water than other options with pools. Double bay has a most beautiful water and we didn't miss the pool at all. We enjoyed the peace and ease of our incredible view and effortless access to the beach. We traveled with our own tent in case we wanted shade at the beach. Strongly recommend. We had calm water days, wave jumping days and amazing snorkeling right off the beach - all along double bay. We visited other beaches on Caribbean side and preferred Double Bay. The home is luxurious in the most simple way. We found restaurants to be lacking ($40 for kid-portion of 5 fish sticks). Ended up cooking majority of meals at home over 9 days. Island Farm grocer was 5 mins away and had the best produce and meats, wines and more. When we return, we will hire a chef for the week as other reviews mention. We didn't think we would need due to rave reviews of area restaurants, but after our stay, we regret not having done so. It was too late to schedule chef arrangements once we were on the island. Note: we received an amazing guide of resources from Eleuthera Rentals. Most of the information is potentially of date or providers no longer active. Many activities listed no longer in operation (at least in July). We hoped for easy access to boat rentals, tubing, fishing, etc. We planned the trip last minute. I wish we had spent more time firming up activities before we arrived. Phones didn't work much if we were not on property. Reaching locals solely through WhatsApp was challenging. Patsy, however, was very responsive to our every question and need. Loved every minute. Would absolutely return!!

We really enjoyed our stay at Poponi House. Description of all the amenities is spot on! Rental company and Missy and Rick were helpful answering questions before and during our visit. Location is fantastic - set back on Poponi Beach with lots of privacy, beach chairs, umbrella, floats and hammocks in the shade provided, and the sound of the ocean every night (we didn't need to use the ac at all this time of year) close to Governors Harbor and great restaurants. Kitchen had everything needed to cook great meals plus a lot of extras we didn't use. Great screen porch and lots of living area to spread out in (two living rooms). Guys were able to work while I enjoyed the screen porch and read all the great books about touring and living in the Bahamas and other islands. Be prepared for Noseeums, sand fleas (avoid the dried seaweed on the beach) and mosquitos at dusk and dawn but be sure to enjoy the gorgeous stars at night. Close to other great beaches- Ten Bay, Receivers (Alabaster), Double Bay, Twin Cove, etc. Visit La Bougainvillea, Tippys, Buccaneers, 3 J's Jerk Pit, The Fig Tree and other great food options, along with fresh bread and veggies at Island Farm and Spring Land Farm (new). Highly recommend Poponi House for your next visit to Eleuthera!

We knew it would be a great vacation when we were immediately greeted with such beautiful tropical landscape as you begin your drive up to the property. The view from the cottage is amazing. We were extremely comfortable; the cottage was very clean and enough space for the 2 of us. We enjoyed our lunch every day on the screened in porch. There were 2 kayaks that are available for usage and we took advantage and used them everyday out in the calm peaceful cove. It was great to have the beach towels and beach chairs also available. Please note, there are steps down to the water and they can be a little tricky to navigate, especially going back up to the cottage. It's definitely a good cardio work out on the way back up. I'm not a good swimmer but I spent every day in the beautiful clear calm waters here. Normally I need a life jacket, pool noodle or floatation device but not here. The roads and the drive to the cottage from North Eleuthera airport are not the greatest but it's well worth the trip. The rental cars are not what one would usually find here in the states, but it was reliable enough to get us around. Grocery stores are limited, and the costs are high, but I don't find that unusual for a Caribbean island. The Potlatch was our favorite restaurant along with La Bougainvillea. Tippy's was great as well. As soon as I get over some health issues, I'm planning on returning to this wonderful cottage.

Kitchen had a lot of pots, pans, plates, 2 ovens, gas stovetop, microwave, toaster oven, toaster, coffee machine, fridge / freezer and water cooler station. Pantry had a few herbs and spices available.
We really enjoyed the pool area and spent a lot of time there. Bathroom off pool area was good and access to kitchen from pool area was great.
Check-in was easy as nothing was locked so we just showed up and unpacked.
Housekeeper was great and responsive.

The location and the home itself are absolutely beautiful. We're so glad that we got to experience the pristine waters and private beach. We explored the island and did a deep sea fishing day and tour day with Exotic Excursions..definetly recommended. We also went to The Saphire hole, and Preachers Cave, both cool experiences. The restaurants and food were amazing. Our only complaints about the home was that the deck is in dire need of repair and unsafe to walk on , from the top level, all the way down to the beach. Additionally, the upstairs shower does not regulate temperature. It's either scalding hot, or freezing cold. Lastly, we found tiny ants in the bathrooms downstairs and upstairs, as well as the kitchen. Overall, our family had a wonderful experience and we're so glad we were able to have the opportunity to stay at the Palisades House.

From our very first interaction with Matt at Eleuthera Vacation Rentals to the warm welcome from Mona, the wonderful housekeeper, everything about booking and check-in was easy. The property itself is spectacular — perfect for our large group, as we rented both the main house and the cottage.

There was plenty of space to come together, whether under the cabana, in the spacious living room, or around the dining table. Yet, for those seeking a little solitude, a lounge chair, hammock, or cozy porch nook offered the perfect escape. The upper porch boasts breathtaking views, while the lower level feels like a private retreat.

The location was ideal, with the town and grocery store just a short walk away. And in just 12 minutes, we could sink our toes into the pink sand and turquoise waters of French Leave Beach. To make our stay even more special, we hired Brenda to cook local specialties on a few nights — giving everyone a true taste of Eleuthera and a break from the kitchen!

We spent a week at Cayo Loco 2 in July 2022, and it was really amazing ! The house is exactly as shown on the pictures, it is very beautiful and charming, and it offered everything we needed ! We LOVED it so much that we will come back ! A beautiful wooden staircase takes us directly on the beach where we only saw one or two people a day. The sand is white and soft and the sea an intense turquoise ! Beautiful ! If you love live music, go at Tippy’s and the Buccaneer and ask for Jeremyah ! He is so good ! Maureen, our hostess, has been fantastic ! She sent us a lot of infos BEFORE the trip and DURING the trip. She was very helpful, answered right away to all our questions, informed us of what was going on on the island during our stay, what NOT to miss, suggestions for restaurants, etc. She was simply the best hostess we could have hoped for ! We enjoyed everything minute of our stay in Cayo Loco !

The house has a great layout. We stayed with 2 other couples and everyone had there own space, but could come together in the middle of the house. The location was good as well, being in the middle of the island you could visit locations on the north and south end of the island without too long of a drive.
The view from the pool deck could be a screen saver, and the pool was perfect to relax in at the end of a day of exploring the island.
The house was clean and Sonya, the local manager for the house, was helpful and informative.
There are more beautiful beaches to visit than you could possible get too. Out favorite was Ten Bay beach, but French Leave was a close second. We also made a day trip to Harbor Island.
The house did not have a grill when we arrived, and Sonya couldn't get on to us until near the end of our visit. Also be prepared for the quirks of "island life". The desalinization plant on the island was having problems the first few days so there was very little water pressure. We were also told the power also sometimes goes out, but luckily we had no issues.
Overall it was a great vacation and I would recommend Coral Point and Eleuthera for a beach getaway.

We enjoyed our stay at this clean, comfy room with a very nice restaurant on the premises and access to a great beach steps away. The location is central, allowing easy access to the whole island north and south. Note that the private road bringing to get there from Queens Highway is in a state of severe disrepair and so a 4x4 is helpful when navigating it. The room also had some maintenance issues but the management was very responsive and addressed them promptly.

We spent over six months at Margherita House. It's a truly charming and fun little home for two!

It has everything you might need and is a short walk to the beach (few minutes walk) or boat ramp (1 min walk) where it's possible to swim and see incredible sea life pass by, even from dry land.

The water pressure is good, and bathroom is a great size.

The 3G reception is great with Aliv. The house wifi is great too (BTC?). We didn't use them, but there are also two big flat screen TVs and computer gaming set ups, as well as a great blue tooth speaker.

It's extremely private and peaceful not just around the house, but in the little community where the house is situated.

The wrap around veranda and sun deck are great.

A special mention should be made of the style of this place. It's decorated beautifully with quality fixtures and furnishings, and feels like a real Eleutheran vacation home.

Can't recommend it enough. :)

We found the property to be a pleasant place to stay overall. There were some things that could make this house top notch. The furniture and beds were very uncomfortable, I have to say. The appearance was great but lacked comfort. The kitchen tiny and I did my own home remedy that got rid of the ants in the kitchen (at least for our stay there). The manager came by the day we checked in but when we tried to contact her for questions twice during out stay, once regarding checkout procedures, we got no answers. As women, we sat and remodeled the cottage in our minds, which is entertainment for us, lol. We have never stayed in a town before and there was one night the neighbors played music until 4 a.m. so am not sure we will stay in town again. As always we thoroughly enjoyed our stay on the island.

My husband and I loved our stay at Palm Bluff. The property is quiet and secluded. A perfect getaway if you want to relax and unwind. The views from the porch & sundeck are incredible. The cliff with stops to access to the ocean was pretty amazing. The house has two bedrooms and one small, shared bathroom. You would want to be pretty close to other occupants of the house because there is not an abundance of private indoor space but it was perfect for us. The small kitchen was adequate for simple meals. The space was clean and comfortable and the property manager was helpful and accommodating. This area of Eleuthera is very laid back and quiet.
No big cities close by. But the property was a short drive from Gaulding Cay Beach & Queens Bath, both of which are beautiful. Across the road from the beach was a lovely restaurant, Daddy Joe's. We enjoyed the fish tacos, fish burger & conch crab cakes so much that we went twice. If you are looking for lots of activity look elsewhere but if you want a nice quiet destination to enjoy the natural beauty of the island this is a great spot. If we are ever in the area again we will be back.

I first want to say I never wanted to leave, Eleuthera is an amazing island and something very special. If you want a secluded house with a private beach to enjoy the views of the ocean, this is the place. The blue water views when you walk in are amazing and the property offers so much! The house is beautiful plenty of room for a family, the kitchen is well equipped with everything you need, best past is an amazing ice maker we used excessively! There are three different types of coffee makers, plenty of pots and pans, spices! The beds are very comfy, and the AC keeps each room cool! It’s great to have the pool right out back, there were even rafts and blow ups for the kids! There are steps down to the private beach we didn’t see anyone the whole trip! It’s very shallow and clear, great for some easy snow, the best part was the numerous sea turtles everywhere!! We saw other sea life, sting rays, crabs, fish, even tiny sharks! Nish was a wonderful perk of the house, she was so attentive and kind, she cleans twice a week and even brought us fresh mangos from her yard!! She helped us with all of our questions and gave us great recommendations on things to do, she is fabulous!! Everyone on the island is so friendly and welcoming, we will be back!!

The Trident home was very spacious and clean and the beach below it was spectacular. There were definitely had a few issues with the home. The windows, screens and doors were old and left gaps for bugs to get in (I got dozens of bites). Apparently, they are being replaced soon but this made opening the windows for breezes not an option for us. The bedroom layout is odd for the primary since you must walk through another bedroom to get to it. This was very annoying. If you never want to leave the house this is a great location but there is very little to do on Eleuthera and driving is a bit scary so we won't be going back.

My husband and I just spent a week in Eleuthera at The Lavender House.The house is absolutely gorgeous and is located on a pink sand beach with a vibrant reef right behind the house. We spent 2 amazing days snorkeling in our backyard! In addition, we greatly enjoyed snorkeling Gaulding Cay and Paw Paw beaches. We jumped into Sapphire Hole, and loved spending time in the beautiful waters of The Queens Bath. We fed a multitude of fish at the Ocean Hole, and walked all the way to the tip of Eleuthera at Lighthouse beach. The cliffs and view were amazing! Although we did Hatchet Cave, one of the highlights of our trip was Cathedral Caves. It’s
beautiful, and seeing the bats was so much fun. Bring a flashlight! We loved shelling on the Caribbean beaches. Millars Beach for larger shells and airport beach near the house for minis shells. We love Eleuthera and typically stay nears Governor's Harbour. We went a bit South this time and had a wonderful stay at the Oasis House. The property is spectacular and provides the privacy we seek. We literally had a half mile long sand beach to ourselves most of the day. The sand is the finest in the world. We did not swim off the beach given the tides were a bit strong, but surf fishing was fun. The house is set back a distance from the ocean and there is no official path from the wonderful pool to the beach. The lights along the proposed walkway do not work so you need a flashlight if you want to visit the beach at night. The gazebo lacked lights and a fan (once offered but currently does not exist). The house is wonderful. It has many light switches that took the entire trip to figure out. The sound system was not functioning when we visited but that really didn’t matter given we were out and about most of the time. The kitchen is well equipped. Of the places we have stayed this might be our favorite (at the high end of cost).

Location: excellent location close to Governor’s Harbour, a short drive down a private road to Sky Beach Club and the ability to use the pool and swim up bar there, and not a bad drive to other towns to the north (James Cistern, Rainbow Bay). Quick walk to a very beautiful, private white sand beach.
House: amazingly modern, clean, well put together for either a couple or small family. AC worked very well. Beds were comfortable. When power goes out, hosts have a generator. Overall, a very comfortable place to stay when most housing on the island is old and nowhere near as clean as this.
Hosts: fantastic hospitality with the owners living next door. They provided so much more than we expected. We were already familiar with the island and places we wanted to go, but they are so knowledgeable and can provide recommendations for those new to Eleuthera.
Would strongly recommend Flipper Refuge!!

This was probably the best beach house that we have ever booked. And it was located on a gorgeous beach.

The house was exactly as shown, well-equipped and carefully maintained. The property was spotless and nicely landscaped. The owner was communicative and attentive.

Eleuthera is a wonderful destination, and the house was located close to the commercial hub of Governor's Harbour. Varied places to eat and drink, decent shopping. The locals are so welcoming!

The recommended snorkeling destinations on Eleuthera are a distance from the house (it's a very long and narrow island), and there are only a couple of nature preserves to visit nearby. But the wonderful time spent on the beach and in the water more than make up for that.

I have stayed on the island more than a dozen times and this home was the best constructed and most thoughtfully appointed house of all. It had plenty of everything I needed, and none of the extra stuff that I didn't. I usually spend the first afternoon of my stay decluttering the counters and coffee tables of "knick-knack" style decor to simplify the space in most homes. That was not necessary here. Everything was clean and practical, and nothing took away from the amazing view, which was unobstructed from the kitchen, living area, and both main bedrooms. I was blown away to find the home had a garbage disposal: something I have never had on the island, but very useful since you want to make sure you get rid of your waste as securely as possible due to island bugs, which leads to my next point. The sliding doors were SO substantial. This may seem trivial, but on an island teeming with no-see-ums and other bugs, this ensured that the home remained completely bug free and that I could enjoy the screened in patio without concern. Further, having a generator is becoming a necessity on island with power outages becoming more frequent, and that did not disappoint! One of the most delightful bonuses was the cold water dispenser and 5 gallon jugs waiting for me! Since you must drink filtered water on the island, 5 gallon jugs are the most economical option, but they don't fit nicely in the fridge (if you like cold water). The dispenser is just like what you might see in office, allowing you to fill a cup with cold water on demand. The house even had Yetis & lids for taking down to the water! Again, small but such thoughtful amenities that made the stay superior. The house had quality beach chairs & umbrellas that made it easy to pack up for other beaches, which you'll need to do if you want a sandy beach. You can still swim here, but as the listing says, it is rocky. My one minor complaint is that there is no real couch, rather (very fancy) recliner style chairs.

We had a fantastic stay. Iris and Samuel are wonderful hosts. Communication was top notch. They were always available to answer questions. The multiple balcony spaces were wonderful to drink our coffee and relax. The roof top deck area is amazing, the views are spectacular. Very comfortable beds with large closets. We cooked in several nights and the kitchen is well equipped. Iris connected us with Cruz for a golf cart to get around the island. Everything we needed was within a short golf cart ride. Cayo Loco was a great, single bedroom cottage located on a great beach! Very quiet, secluded little getaway but a short drive to Governor's Harbour restaurants and grocery stores. Had a great conversation with the owners/caretakers on the beach and learned how the cottages "came about" and their 17 years on the island. Received activity text updates from the owners everyday. The only aspect we gave 4 stars for was the "general condition" but the condition was great, just that the kitchen amenities (pots, pans, utensils, etc...) and space is a little limited but you do have every appliance you would need.

Pointe House is a wonderful home nestled on the Savannah Sound side of Windermere Island - new construction and a beautiful new covered dock. It is spacious and comfortable accommodations for 6 people. The sunsets are spectacular and the wildlife seen from the dock superb. The main beach access on Windermere is a short 4-5 minute walk from the house. This is a beautiful addition to the island - look forward to renting again.

Fig Tree exceeded all of our expectations. The homeowners truly spared no expense, ensuring that every detail was top-notch and that anything we could possibly need was provided. The quality of everything—from the amenities to the finishes—was exceptional. The grounds felt like something straight out of a 5-star resort; we found ourselves spending hours enjoying the backyard. The location was also ideal, with the beach and downtown restaurants just a short distance away. Joe, the house manager, was incredibly responsive and went above and beyond to assist with transportation and any special requests. Janet, the housekeeper, kept everything immaculate with her daily visits. Honestly, there’s nothing I can say that’s anything less than glowing about this property. It was truly a perfect stay.

We had a great stay at The Better Life for our anniversary. House was clean and well furnished. The bed was comfortable, pillows and linens were nice. Ample towels and plenty beach towels were provided. There was also nice beach chairs, umbrellas and a cooler that came in handy when going to the beach, which was only a short walk from the house. The kitchen was pretty well equipped with the most common kitchen items including utensils, pots, pans, gadgets etc. there were very limited spices provided, but they are available at some of the local markets. The heated pool and grill were clean and both worked great. Loves staying here and would return. House is pretty secluded at the moment but there are surrounding properties available for sale that may have new construction in the future. It was convenient to Governors Harbour, about an 8-10 drive.

The house was overall very clean. We had 4 elderly people, so the stairs were a little overwhelming. For being a new home, it has a lot of maintenance that needs to be done, such as all the downstairs ceilings, closet doors, and electrical outlet holes. There were a lot of bugs in the house. The pool was very clean when we arrived, but no maintenance was done during our stay and it got very cloudy and murky. The walk to the beach is also very treacherous for older people when coming back, since you have to climb a steep hill. The house kitchen was well stocked with all the essential appliances and cookware. I think this place would be ideal for a family with young kids, however would not recommend if you are bringing senior guests.

The Pineapple House was beautiful in every way! From it’s inviting entrance with a lovely porch and porch swing to the crystal pineapple lantern exterior lighting around its perimeter. Beautiful landscaping, shrubs, palms and flowering bushes and greenery that made us already feel that we would soon be entering a home that provided a level of hospitality we always remember.

The front door opened into a large great room with a breathtaking view of the ocean view and pool flanked by tall swaying palms. The kitchen was well stocked with everything a good chef might need to prepare wonderful meals in a beach setting of cool blues and whites. The furniture was spacious, comfortable and cozy for our family of three couples, two toddlers and two babies.

Everything was clean, tidy and well organized! An adjacent room to the kitchen provided easy access to a pantry for food storage, a washer and dryer, drinking water, coffee and bar. It’s was nice to have this set apart to provide spacious kitchen island access for food prep and serving. The large dining room table was perfect for nice meals and its close access made serving and clean up easy.

The large sectional sofa with pillows and throws was perfect for watching movies at the end of the day and the the owner had curated a great selection of books from Bob Newhart to Astronomy! All of the guest rooms were spacious, well organized, tidy and had they own ac units, adjacent bathrooms with on demand hot water showers. The mattresses, bedding and colors were amazing! We took lots of pictures to help us bring the same level of beauty and comfort to our own home.

We paid extra to have the pool heated and we’re so happy we did! The pool became a great family gathering place early morning and at the at the end of the day after refreshing swims and wonderful low tide beach walks that seemed to go for miles!

It is relaxing visiting Eleuthera. Touch of Class Cottage was very clean and comfortable. We like the fully equipped kitchen along with spice rack. Fishing right out back behind the house was also a plus but don't forget to pack your fishing gear. Our host Natasha was very accommodating in getting us a rental car and she was always available via phone if we had any questions. She also wanted us to have a good time and went above and beyond to make sure we knew about the first Fish Fry event of the year. We would definitely stay at Touch of Class Cottage again.

Can’t say enough about Nikki & Patrick who operate, & well love, this property (the grounds are lush & beautiful!) & graciously care for the guests they host. We’ve been visiting Eleuthera for a number of years now – it’s become our happy place. And we’ve never been happier than with this recent stay. Our first time staying on the beautiful, secluded airport beach, though & it was just divine – reminded us of the much loved French Leave beach! Close enough to the settlement of Governor’s Harbor for groceries, dinners out & more, & such a convenient location if you fly into Governor’s Harbor airport!

Charming, comfortable, authentic well-appointed laid-back Bahamian cottages & pool house – with convenient, stocked honor bar! What a treat to have so many choices at your disposal & not have to buy entire bottles during your stay. At the pool house you’re welcome to mingle as you’re comfortable with the intimate handful of other possible guests or keep to yourselves – up to you! We enjoyed great conversations with those we met during our stay.

The cottage itself is very well equipped – one of the best with all the extras you might want to enjoy during a stay at the beach! Absolutely comfy bedding – a must for a restorative stay. And the view from the cottage porch – wow! Sometimes we didn’t want to move from there!

For special, romantic dinners, make reservations at The Potlatch Club & 1648 at sunset (their conch rangoon is well known & loved). The Buccaneer Club is another fav & everything on their menu is tasty – especially their lobster roll & rum soaked french toast.

Overall tips: Wear bug spray and watch out for potholes on the island. Groceries (in March 2025) were a bit of a challenge (difficult to find and very high prices). If you have picky eaters, pack food to bring with you. Overall, this house was perfect for us!

We had a wonderful time, much in part to working with Pam Fontes at Eleuthera Vacation Rentals as our booking agent. We’ve worked with her several times over the years. She knows our family of 9, what we need and what we like. She found an amazing seaside villa called SeaDuced on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. The price was affordable, and the accommodations were stunning. Certainly the best place we’ve ever stayed since our Blue House vacation on the island of Guana Cay. The beach was 3.5 miles of beautiful pink sand. My wife and I like to take beachwalks and hunt for sea glass. We found a spot nearby that produced more sea glass than we could carry...all in a variety of beautiful colors.

The home had three large bedrooms and a guest room for our daughters boyfriend. It was fully furnished right down to the last detail. Everything was new and tastefully selected. Also came equipped with kayaks and paddle boards and beach umbrellas which we used daily. House had a beautiful deck and look with comfortable chairs, tables and lounges. Beds were super comfortable, showers were strong and hot. It was everything we’d hoped for. My wife tested positive for COVID on the second last day, so Pam worked with the owners to extend our visit until we could get approved to leave. Can speak more highly of Pam as an agent to find a place in the Bahamas . We will work with her as long as she is in the business.

Best place to buy your food is Island Farm on Queens Hwy. It’s fresh and reasonably priced. The local groceries in Palmetto are small, but they carry the basics at reasonable prices as well. I think that the grocery in Governors may have a wider selection but it is cash only and prices can be 2-3x higher. The Bahamas Wellness clinic is nearby if you need medical help or testing. Elizabeth was a godsend arriving with lasagne for our first night and she made herself available to answer any questions we had. The villa itself is like a home from home, situated on the hill with lovely views overlooking the harbour and is believably well equipped. Everywhere was very clean, the beds were extremely comfortable and the pool a very welcome addition. The location of the villa is also very convenient for walking into town, to all the coffee shops and restaurants and of course to the famous fish fry on a Friday evening. This unit is so close to the water. You can spend your time counting whale breaches from the large balcony or from the luxury of your bed. It was perfect for our family of six adults. The kitchen is very well appointed. There was always barbecues available any time of the day. The pool is a perfect temperature and the hot tub is huge, alloying for personal space even with many people using it. There were plenty of beach towels, beach chairs and toys for use in the unit to enjoy the ocean, which is just steps away. We love playing pickleball and had no difficulty getting on the court. The mini golf and outdoor shuffle board were fun in the afternoon. Parking was plentiful and we never had to park far from our unit. If you stay here, you must visit Papi’s Ohana for their cinnamon buns. Don’t let the line up scare you, it goes quickly and the staff is lovely but get there early because they are generally sold out by 11:00 am. Highly recommended this accommodation.

My wife and 2 teenage kids stayed in the the unit. On initial arrival, the A/C was not working properly. Contacted the host and an HVAC tech was onsite same day and had hit fixed. Found the drain blocked, so easy fix. . I bring this up to show the attentiveness from the host. He was awesome. The unit was clean and description was spot on. Kids had their own beds, which was great.Beds were all very comfortable and clean. The kitchen had all the necessities and having washer/dryer was nice. The view from the deck was great and we watched turtles feed 30 yards off the beach every day. I even snorkeled out and swam with them, but kept the required 10 feet distance. The unit is within walking distance to everything needed to make your comfortable including grocery store, gas station, restaurants and dive shop. The beach is a short walk away. The hot tub and pool was always clean. The grounds were well taken care of. We highly recommend this unit and location.

Comfortable Stay near Convention Center ☆☆☆☆☆★★★★★
Everything about reserving and staying at this property went smoothly. We were in town for a volleyball tournament. This unit gave us our own space to spread out, prepare meals, and do laundry. We were right next to the main pool and had easy access to the 1 mile walking path around the lake. The complex is conveniently located near a few restaurants that are easy to get into, a Publix, and a 3-5 minute drive to the convention center. The convention center is within walking distance but it was really hot when we stayed in early July so we chose to drive most days.

All the directions for checking in and out were easy to follow. Communication and response were quick when we had some wasps show up on the patio. Communication was also quick and easy when we requested to extend our stay. The unit was well-kept and we would stay hare again.

Staying here was not only convenient, close to parks and anything you need stores. Place was very nice, clean and comfortable beds. Amenities kids enjoyed the pool and playing basketball, and I was able to use the gym. Will definitely be back.

Very good stay. We had an issue 3 times with the guest bathroom blocking which was frustrating, and at times an-inconvenience...!!
But this was resolved very quickly once the maintenance were aware..

Unfortunately during our 3 week stay, our adjoining neighbour was undergoing renovations for 2 of our weeks, even though I know this wasn’t a fault of the rental.. the banging, loud music was from early morning to early evening... the walls being thin you felt you were in the room with the renovation crew...

Have stayed at Vista Cay many times over the years, but first time booking through yourself . Thank you for all the communication we received from the booking to arrivial.

This was the perfect condo. It was super clean and huge. Perfect for our group of 3 moms to travel for our daughter's dance competition. It would have also been perfect for a family. It was bigger than any 3 bedroom condo we've ever stayed in. Had everything we needed. Great location to convention center, walking distance to the grocery, restaurants, etc. Unit was updated and very clean and decorated nicely. The 2 king beds and 2 queens were a huge plus. Will absolutely stay here again next year!

Our family of four enjoyed staying at Mareazul near Playa Del Carmen for almost a week. The condo was very clean and pretty well-maintained. The location of this unit is near the entrance to the resort and is a few minute walk to the pool, beach, or restaurants. Downtown Playa Del Carmen is only a 5-10 minute drive for plenty of shops, restaurants, and attractions. We spent lots of time poolside and on the beach enjoying the sun and water!

Loved the apartment. This is situated in a very good location, both in safety and beach access. The amenities of the resort are top notch and we always felt very safe while walking around. Even on the beach there is private security. The place looks relatively new and was decorated with care. Overall, this was a great experience and we will be returning.

Mareazul is a pearl of a property. It is a beautiful complex with pools, lawns and water features in the center, and practically on a beautiful beach with sun umbrellas. The units (we rented 5 for our extended family) were in great shape, clean, well maintained, spacious. The two restaurants on site serve great casual food. The staff is fantastic. Anything that needed to be addressed was addressed immediately and efficiently.

Property, including store , security and condo were in excellent condition and the condo was in perfect very modern condition. Condo was spotlessly clean.
The managing company was very attentive to our needs and provided timely updates on our stay such as entry codes, specific directions to the property & contact phone numbers. Important to know that the unit access code needs to be entered via ####### followed by hitting an entry button on lower left of the key pad. The building code does not require a code enter button. Entry control panel needs to be initiated by pressing any button followed by the code.
Both Restaurants had great food selections, service and access (no wait time)! Pool areas were delightful and access to chairs was excellent.
I will definitely use this company & property in the future and recommend it to friends.

It’s in a safe location-the whole area is private. The pools and beach are stunning! It was really clean! And when we needed to get to town and figure out how to exchange money and rent a car someone drove us free of charge and was really helpful!!
